Ingram Micro Names Its 500 Fastest-Growing SMB VARs10:02 AM EST Thu. Sep. 20, 2012
Ingram Micro launched a new program focused on 500 fast-growing solution providers that target the small- and midsize-business market.
The Ingram Micro SMB 500 was identified using the Santa Ana, Calif.-based distributor's business intelligence systems to identify their growth as well as their areas of focus, including cloud technology and certain vertical markets, said Kirk Robinson, vice president and general manager of Ingram Micro's U.S. commercial markets division.
Ingram Micro unveiled its SMB 500 at its Fall SMB Invitational conference in Rancho Mirage, Calif., this week. The 500 solution providers were chosen from a pool of more than 20,000 Ingram Micro customers focused on the SMB market and will receive benefits including increased credit lines and dedicated resources, according to Robinson.
"We've sold SMB for 30 years but we didn't feel we were putting our best foot forward. We wanted to dominate that space," Robinson said. "We want to be the recognized distributor of choice for SMB resellers. We're using predictive analytics to find who are the right resellers that would grow if given the right credit line."
All 500 companies demonstrated a three-year revenue growth rate of at least 50 percent, and at least 331 companies more than doubled their business during that time. The fastest-growing company, LogicShark Consulting, increased sales by more than 3,000 percent from June 2009 through June 2012, according to Ingram Micro.
Not surprisingly, many companies are new to Ingram and focused on cloud technologies, Robinson said. "More and more are built as cloud companies. We're looking to understand what makes them successful," he said.
