CompuCom has hired Tony Doye as divisional CEO, part of a succession plan that will lead to Doye replacing Jim Dixon as CEO of the Dallas-based solution provider, according to an email sent to employees.

Most recently, Doye was CEO of Fujitsu Americas from April 2010 until this month, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president at Unisys and was a group president at CSC prior to that.

Doye will assume responsibilities for all sales and support functions including services, hardware and software, Dixon wrote in the email. Dixon will remain chairman after Doye becomes CEO, but that is not expected to happen for at least a couple years, Dixon wrote.

"I will continue to work with Tony, our senior management team, our owners and investors, as well as our industry partners to shape the strategic direction for the company. Funding our future and helping guide our business are as important to me now as they were 20 years ago. I intend to continue working to make sure we are positioned for growth and success," Dixon wrote.

CompuCom ranked No. 22 in this year's Solution Provider 500, up four spots from the previous year, after reporting 2011 revenue of $2.26 billion. The solution provider has continued to grow and thrive in recent years, receiving Symantec's Fast Growth Partner of the Year award in October.
