GE Access is bringing its Advanced Computing Center closer to home.

The center, a Sun Microsystems-authorized iForce Ready center, has been relocated to the distributor's recently renovated Advanced Solutions Development Center in Littleton, Colo. The center was previously located in Chicago.

Boulder-based GE Access made the announcement at its 11th annual New Frontiers conference here for solution providers.

Solution providers use the Advanced Computing Center to benchmark solutions and conduct proof-of-concept demonstrations for customers.

GE Access engineers and solution providers use the Advanced Solutions Development Center to build customized solutions from scratch.

The combined center enables solution providers to design, build and test a solution under one roof, says Randy Grissom, vice president of technical services at GE Access.

"We are able to share equipment and expertise, increase interaction between GE Access employees and our customers, and provide greater visibility for our solutions development and consulting teams," Grissom said in a statement.

The Advanced Computing Center includes Sun Enterprise 10000 and midrange servers and storage products, as well as third-party products, to test solutions in storage, networking, security and e-business.
