CTO Vivek Kundra to the newly created post of federal chief information officer: "Kundra's CIO role, according to the Washington Post, will be to oversee all federal technology spending and also manage how government agencies purchase and use IT. Rob Preston likes the focus that Obama has set for Kundra -- leaving broad policy issues for a still-unnamed CTO, while giving Kundra the power to both launch and shut down government IT systems.
