Microsoft CRM RTMs

its latest CRM

The latest out of Redmond on CRM Next or Microsoft CRM 3.0 or Dynamics CRM, is that code is final and was released to manufacturing (RTM) this week. General availability is now on for early December (at least the English version.) The company had previously pegged RTM for December with GA early next year.

Foreign language versions are slated to ship three to four months later, the company said.

Another tidbit: The company plans to release WSE 3.0 or Web Services Enhancements 3.0 next Monday. The WSE toolkit eases development of secure web services based on the various WS-whathaveyou protocols, according to Microsoft. It will tie easily into Visual Studio 2005 and the .Net Framework 2.0, both officially launching on that very same Monday.

The toolkit will be available for download Monday via this Microsoft site.

Maffei In Now Out At Oracle

Greg Maffei, the former Microsoft CFO who joined Oracle in that post and as co-president in June---that's last June-- is leaving. That may be a record even by Oracle standards.

Maffei told Bloomberg News he is leaving for an exciting opportunity. Maffei has reportedly clashed with Safra Catz, another co-president and a tight Larry Ellison ally.
