The 2015 NexGen Cloud Conference & Expo is assembling some of today’s best and brightest minds to help solution providers understand the future of cloud computing and its impact on their business models.

The NexGen Cloud Conference, the only independent cloud conference designed for solution providers, will focus on sales, marketing, solution delivery, buyer behavior and technology with peer-led content along with some of the best-known names in the industry. The event is scheduled to take place Dec. 9-10 at the San Diego Convention Center following a closed-door executive day where leading cloud integrators will gather with vendors, developers and cloud suppliers. NexGen Cloud is produced by The Channel Company, parent of CRN and CRN.com.

VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger, a cloud and technology visionary, is among the event’s keynote speakers. David McCann, vice president of Amazon Web Services Marketplace, and author and entrepreneur John Battelle will deliver keynotes as well. Leading SaaS and cloud analyst Jeff Kaplan will moderate a keynote panel featuring some of today’s fastest-rising cloud vendors and suppliers. And legendary skateboard professional Tony Hawk, not only an elite athlete but also a video-game sensation and entrepreneur, will be on the main stage as a keynote speaker.

Those presenters will be joined by some of today’s leading vendor executives to help partners understand the technology and partner programs driving today’s leading IT providers.

The content was designed by a dedicated group of solution providers who serve on the NexGen Cloud Advisory Board, whose goal is to help peers grow and accelerate their cloud business. A core group was formed at an XChange Conference two years ago after a lengthy debate about whether solution providers could survive if they did not transition their business to the cloud.

“Too many channel partners are struggling to find their way with cloud services, as it requires adjusting your business model and revenue mix,” said Allen Falcon, CEO of Cumulus Global.

The following content sessions and speakers also will be featured at NexGen Cloud:

GE Cloud Strategist Vincent Perfetti will share his experience helping this global company move to the cloud and the impact on culture and business processes.

Managed services guru Gary Pica, founder of TruMethods, will help managed service providers migrate to cloud services so they can avoid the commoditization and pricing pressure sweeping through the MSP space.

Forrester Vice President and Research Director Glenn O’Donnell will share research on the next wave of cloud computing and why today’s technologists could become extinct if they don’t evolve their roles and thinking.

Among the leading solution providers speaking will be ePlus CTO Mark Melvin, who will help peers understand the impact of software-defined networking on cloud computing. David Geevaratne, president of New Signature, a leading cloud integrator, will explain how to profit from the public cloud based on his extensive work with Microsoft.

Rounding out the agenda is Daniel Pfeiffer, vice president of marketing for OrionVM, who is a thought leader in the area of wholesale cloud and the technologies that make it possible. Pfeiffer’s talk will center on the why the wholesale cloud is a viable alternative to public clouds and on-premise clouds.

Through a partnership with the Flash Memory Summit, well-known storage analyst Tom Coughlin of Coughlin Associates will discuss his favorite topic – storage -- and how storage innovation is impacting next-generation data centers.

“This is the only conference that provides the expert content, and the networking, to help you create a successful path,” said New Signature’s Geevaratne.

Those are just a few of the sessions that will be featured at the NexGen Cloud Conference & Expo. More thought leaders will be added to the agenda in the coming weeks.
