The Daily App: Dolphin Browser HD For Android

One differentiating factor that many talk about when opting for Android-based devices over iPhones and iPads is that Android for the most part is true to what some refer to as “the real Web” or “the full Web.”

On the Android platform, the Dolphin Browser HD – a free download from the Android Market – is geared toward making the full Web also a full browsing experience. It adds in tabbed browsing and bookmarking features that go much further than Apple's Safari browser for iOS, for example, in making the browsing experience feel more natural and PC-like.

We gave Dolphin Browser HD a try on a Motorola Droid X, and came away feeling like it was one of the best – if not the best – mobile browsing experiences we’ve had to date. Video, audio and tabbed browsing worked, made the viewing and listening experiences satisfying and provided just a great look and feel. Multi-touch and pinch, page saving and downloading are also supported very strongly in Dolphin Browser HD.

Even though it’s free, it would be worth the download even if it was set at a few dollars – Dolphin Browser HD just adds that much value to the mobile device experience.
