The Daily App: ContactsXL For iPhone

Smart devices and tablets are geared to synchronize all of our contacts across devices, services and platforms. While that’s often a welcome function, it can too often lead to “contact creep” – the accumulation of so many contacts in your list that you lose track of who is who, where they are from or how you picked up their name in the first place.

ContactsXL, a 99-cent download from the Apple iTunes App Store, aims to better manage your contact lists by allowing you to create a greater variety of groups, organize their data (including birthday information), do quick searches and even send them group e-mail or group SMS text messages. You can even do a quick browse of items like “Contacts with Photo” or “Contacts without Photo,” or contacts by a given city or location, for example.

If you’re someone who has more than 500 contacts, ContactsXL is one app that could help you navigate through them so much quicker that it becomes an actual productivity app.

ContactsXL with Facebook Sync, group text and group e-mail, and more, by Jonathan Teboul, is an app you’ll want to check out if sorting through reams of contacts on your iPhone has become a grudging task.
