The Daily App: Risk Management for Android

We love to see developers integrate key aspects of a mobile device – from camera to on-board storage, efficient processing capabilities – into one app that offers great utility.

A terrific example of this can be found with an aptly-named app, Risk Management, which is a free download from the Android Market. Geared primarily to handheld devices as opposed to tablets, Risk Management provides a quick-and-dirty way to capture data of various risks to an organization.

Risk Management, by developer Rui Pinho, provides you with tools to do the following:

If the risk is a physical risk – for example, loose wires at a job site or crumbling infrastructure – Risk Management supports taking a photo of the risk and including it in the file. The risk-seriousness rating can be done not just through the 1-to-4 scale, but also by color-coding. And the totality of risks identified and captured through Risk Management can be entered into an in-app database that is also searchable.

A paid version of Risk Management, GetRiscos, provides some additional functionality but the free version is certainly worth a try for anyone who needs to identify, capture and mitigate risks.
