The Daily App: Springpad for Android

A free download from the Android Market, Springpad works in conjunction with a web-based service, at Springpadit.com, and also supports collaboration and sharing notes and captured data with others.

Springpad’s Android App is produced by Springpad, Charlestown, Mass., and also synchronizes with iPad and iPhone apps.

Much like other data saving apps and services, like Evernote, Springpad lets you share notes via other apps and services including Note Everything, StumbleUpon, Facebook, Gmail, and Evernote itself.

Once we signed up for an account via the Web-based service, we tried this app out on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Taking audio notes, photo notes and text notes was a snap, they were easy to tag and navigate, and use for a variety of tasks. What’s great about Springpad and other like apps is that they tap into multiple hardware functions of Android devices, including the on-board cameras and microphones.

Granted, if you’re already using Evernote or other apps for note-taking or organization, it may be just as easy to stick with what works. But if you’re looking for a snappier, more graphic-friendly app, Springpad is certainly worth a try.
