The Daily App: FabuList for iPad

FabuList for iPad, by developer StandAlone Mobile, takes a terrific approach to managing daily, low-level projects that are slightly too complicated for typical reminder or task-list apps.

In its description of the app on the Apple iTunes App Store, the developers say they take advantage of the larger tablet screen to introduce new functionality that you won’t get on smart phones. They do. In particular, FabuList allows you to not just differentiate project lists by business or personal, but to “layer” these smaller projects by as many as three “sub-projects.”

FabuList will then allow you to assign a status – either not started, in progress, completed, waiting or deferred. It lets you assign a priority – high, normal or low – and give the project a due date. You’re also permitted to write in project details.

The apps’ primary navigation page will then order each small project or you by due date, business, personal, etc. – and guide you through completion of all of them.

Larger projects, of course, have more complex apps and services available. And simple tasks or reminders certainly have theirs. But FabuList provides a nice, in-between app that will save you time, not just subtract from it.

It’s a $4.99 download from the Apple iTunes App store.
