The Daily App: Evernote For Android

If it's true that an elephant never forgets, then it's probably because he was taking good notes. The modern elephant's best friend is Evernote, a free app that "turns your Android device into an extension of your brain." That's according to Evernote Corp., which was declared a top developer by Google Play.

One of those must-have apps if you're serious about remembering, Evernote not only presents a simple interface for note-taking but also captures memories as audio, attachment or picture, and it automatically syncs your notes across all the devices you use. Versions are available for BlackBerry, iOS, Mac OS X and Windows, so all your memories are never far from reach. For pictures, you can add a title, description and tags to remind you where you were and what you were thinking about or doing. To find your memories later, just search for a word or two and memories appear in a list for easy retrieval and sharing with contacts or on social networks.

To retain information from a meeting, for example, take a snapshot of a whiteboard, add notes and send to other team members. It can also be used to keep copies of receipts for travel, contracts, business cards, product photos and price lists. What's more, Evernote can create to-do lists and links with other apps to share data. Data can be accessed offline, edited from other devices and locked with a passcode.
