The Daily App: Office2 for iOS

More than a simple convenience, the cloud as a storage platform has become a necessity for many of today's mobile professionals. Today's Daily App leverages online storage to deliver any Microsoft Office document for editing to any device running iOS. And with an update released June 6th Office² by Byte2 provides access to Microsoft Office documents on a personal computer to be accessed from those same iPhones and iPads.

Office2 (pronounced "Office squared"), provides basic document editing for iOS users. The updated app brings Microsoft Office and its programs into one localized app. Office2 focuses on the basics of Microsoft office, such as cropping images and editing text. It does not offer the same usability one would find on the desktop version, such as keyboard shortcuts, although it gets the job done when it comes to fundamental editing needs.

A brilliant new feature provided on Office2 is support for Microsoft's SkyDrive. Cloud users familiar with this concept will marvel at the capability to access any file from any location on their mobile device. Other features include the ability to download, create, edit, save, send, print, upload and transfer documents locally or via Google, Dropbox and Box.net. It also can read and create PDF documents.

The latest update of Office² is a tool that's well suited for to professionals who rely on detailed document markup and change tracking as well as group document collaboration. With the new tracking feature, users can collectively receive, record, reject, and accept edits without relying on an internet connection. Office2 is available for the iPad at $7.99 and at $5.99 for the iPhone.
