The chairman and CEO of Avnet, is scheduled to ring the NYSE Euronext closing bell Feb. 1 from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., to kick off the weekend celebrations as the city hosts Super Bowl XLII.

Roy Vallee will join executives from 14 other NYSE companies based in Arizona, plus Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano and Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs as part of the event.

"Bringing together two of the most famous events in the world -- ringing the NYSE bell and the NFL's Super Bowl -- is exciting for our great state of Arizona. It's an honor to ring the bell on our turf for the state's first time, joined by 14 excellent local companies on the Big Board and Avnet's employees," Vallee said in a statement.

Super Bowl XLII will be played in the University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday, February 3, 2008.
