Costco Broadens Small Biz VoIP Options

Bellevue, Wash.-based Telanetix's AccessLine division is offering AccessLine Digital Phone Service, a package that includes phones and phone service. Targeted at businesses with five or fewer employees, the service supports local, long-distance and international calling and includes features such as fax mailboxes and automated attendant functionality.

To ease deployment for Costco customers, the package also includes an equipment installment purchase plan instead of an upfront charge, Telanetix said in a statement.

Pricing for the package was not disclosed, though Telanetix noted that it will come in at a discount of up to 50 percent compared to traditional phone services.

Costco currently operates over 500 membership-driven warehouses worldwide as well Costco Online e-stores.

The relationship with Telanetix marks the latest addition to Costco's VoIP lineup. The company in May began selling Quanta Computer's Syspine Digital Operator Phone System, a small-business IP-PBX platform that runs on Microsoft's Response Point software.
