If you've been waiting for Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny to come streaming through your iPhone from South Park, Colo. -- you're going to have to wait some more.

An iPhone app, which was created by the producers of the popular "South Park" cartoon, has been rejected by the Apple Store. Apple said the content was potentially offensive. South Park Studios have been back and forth with Apple since October 2008, when it was first submitted for approval. Even after some tweaks, however, the Cupertino, Calif., mothership said no.

The "South Park" cartoon airs on Comedy Central, and is rated for mature audiences. However, some observers point out some gaps in Apple's logic. First, the iTunes store sells all of the "South Park" episodes. Second, the "objectionable content" label seems arbitrary, given some of the other apps that have been approved, such as iFart, iVomit Mobile and iGirl -- at your command.

Some suspect that the company is really just not approving South Park Studio's app because the application allows iPhone users to stream episodes, which might conflict with Apple's future plans for the device. In the South Park Studios' blog, the company told "South Park's" creators that the application might be approved down the road, as iTunes' standards evolve. It may just be that Apple is waiting until an iTunes video-streaming service can be completed. But for now, the news from South Park is that the app is dead in the water.
