Post-Merger, NEC Display President Decides To Step Aside
Trojan, who has spent 24 years at NEC, said a combination of his desire to move to a different climate and his family life were major factors in his decision to retire. The announcement came earlier this week.
"I moved to Chicago about nine years ago," said Trojan, who is originally from Denver and has spent time in Texas. "I've never been a big fan of the weather here. My kids are just about grown. "
The streamlining of NEC's display and projector units was completed earlier this year, and Trojan said it was a success.
"We did the merger, and things went better than we ever could have expected," he said. All units of the company are now in growth mode, he said.
Trojan's responsibilities will be taken over by Nobuya Sakagami, who is is currently responsible for global business activities as Senior Vice President and Member of the Board of NEC Display Solutions, Ltd., the parent company of NEC Display Solutions of America. The company's channel organization and strategy will remain in place, Trojan said.
"We're a channel-focused organization," Trojan said. "There won't be any change in that."
