In case of emergency, please reach for today's Daily App, simply named First Aid, for Android and iOS. Accidents happen and are usually always unexpected, and no matter the circumstances, whether a finger gets caught on a rack in the stockroom or someone twists an ankle walking off the elevator, this app can provide help before the EMTs arrive.

Created by the American Red Cross, the First Aid app is free and provides simple step-by-step instruction guides and 9-1-1 integration, so calling EMS can be done instantly from within the app at anytime.

Launching First Aid immediately provides an "Emergency" button that pulls up a directory that lists different types of injuries and ailments; this includes allergies, burns, heart attacks and strains. Once the issue at hand has been selected, the next screen lists step-by-step instructions on how to handle the situation. Another tab listed as "Prepare" provides checklists on what to do to get ready for emergency situations such as floods, fires, hurricanes and tornadoes. There's also a variety of videos and animations that give examples of basic first aid care, as well as an interactive "Test" tab for those that are interested in learning even more about first aid, such as what to do during a heart attack and how to stop bleeding. All of the content is preloaded on the app so a data or Wi-Fi connection is not needed.
