We are undoubtedly moving towards a paperless era, although paper still exists and can present an unavoidable challenge when it comes to joining the virtual and physical. Today’s Daily App, OfficeDrop for Android and iOS, is a cloud based document management system that can help provide small businesses with an affordable way to manage their paper and digital files.

OfficeDrop was created by Cambridge and Boston-based Pixily, with the objective to provide anywhere, anytime access to files from a computer, web browser or mobile device.

After creating a free account, which includes 2GB of free storage, the OfficeDrop home screen has two options; "Scan From Camera" and "Use Multiple Page Scan From Camera Roll". OfficeDrop will then "scan" any piece of paper by using the device’s camera and quickly convert it to a PDF file. The image can then be uploaded to the cloud, shared via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, e-mailed or copied as a link to the clipboard, or it can be added to Passbook. All files can also be set to instantly sync with a PC or Mac computer.

Tabs on the bottom toolbar also include Browse, Search, Favorites and Settings. Browse provides file access and in this tab the documents can be moved to separate folders, labeled, shared and marked as a favorite. The Search feature uses an in app search engine to help find documents, which can be searched for by using specific words and numbers.

There are paid versions available, which offer more storage starting at $9.95/month for 20GB.
