Finding gas usually has one stipulation -- which gas station has the cheapest gas. However, with post-Hurricane Sandy, most people on the East Coast have a different agenda: finding an open gas station. That's where today's Daily App comes in handy. GasBuddy for Android, Blackberry and iOS is a free gas finder app that not only lists the closest and lowest-priced gas stations but also helps weed out the closed ones.

GasBuddy's like named developers, based out of Brooklyn Park, Minn., created the app so that the public could report and find gas prices based on their GPS location or city/zip/postal code. What makes GasBuddy a reliable tool is that each gas price entry is time stamped, and there's also a comment section, where gas station updates such as how long the lines are or whether or not the station is open can be indicated by the public; those who are searching can see the time stamps to decide whether or not that gas station is worth going to.

GasBuddy has one main button: Simply tap "Find Gas Near Me" to see the list of gas stations in the surrounding area. The search can be customized by area, type of gas, distance and price. There's also a map that shows gas stations based on GPS location.

The GasBuddy.com website offers the same features and also has Facebook and Twitter integration so users can share comments and updates on available gas stations and wait times.
