If there's a universal concern held by just about every working person or student, it's the weather. Today's Daily App is a free tool from independent developer Tim Clark called Eye In the Sky Weather for Android, and it's a must-have for anyone who leaves the house.
Formerly called Weather Eye, Eye in the Sky Weather presents a clear, quick look at what it's doing outside right now and over the next two days, as well as a forecast for the two weeks. Implemented as a series of color and monochromatic icons and widgets, the Android-only app can be easily customized to suit individual preferences and needs. Configurable prefs include Fahrenheit/Celsius, MPH/KPH, inches/mm, etc.
Like any good app, it reads device internals to automatically detect its location and presents the weather picture on a screen like the one shown. On the Lenovo tablet we tested on, it also showed us the weather picture for the next four days (it supports portrait mode only). Swiping from either side increases or decreases the number of days in the forecast. Tapping on any day reveals details such as wind chill, dew point, chance of rain and barometric pressure. A $1.91 Pro version removes ads and provides developer support. If we could add a feature, it might be the ability to enter the name of a travel destination.
