OK, it may be a little later than usual for me to post a blog, but since I promised Wanted to direct you to two sites to read up about the awe-inspiring Steve Wozniak, since he's keynoting our Industry Hall of Fame event in barely four weeks. They would be woz.com and woz.org.
As you may have guessed, the former is dedicated to Wheels of Zeus, Wozniak's current company founded in late 2001. Its mission is to apply global positioning satellite (GPS) technology to common-day uses, such as locating one's wayward pet. (Steve's dogs apparently have a habit of breaking through his invisible fence which is where he got the brainstorm.) Wheels of Zeus has created a reference designed that will be used by Motorola Broadband, among others, for creating wireless network solutions. That's all I know. Hopefully he'll share more next month.
If the professional stuff doesn't sate your appetite, you can reference the latter, where there are funny tidbits about Steve Wozniak's background, links to his friends and even Woz Cam. (No explanation needed there.) I have to admit, if seeing a keynote speech by Steve Jobs is like being in the presence of a rock star, having a one-to-one conversation with Woz is literally a life-changing experience, as I discovered when we inducted him into the Hall of Fame in 1998. Get this. He listens! I hope you have an opportunity to listen to him.
Bye for now. Gotta decompress.
