The suite, according to San Mateo, Calif.-based Zimbra, comprises "enterprise-grade e-mail, contacts and group calendaring, accessible via our rich AJAX browser-based client as well as via IMAP, POP and iCalendar desktop and mobile clients."

The server is thus far Linux-based, the clients run on the usual Mac, Windows and Linux suspects as well as in Firefox and IE browsers.

Zimbra was known--sparingly--as Liquid Systems and its chief claim to fame is its the new home of former BEA Systems CTO Scott Dietzen.
