Report: Top Justice Official Backs Microsoft Vs. Google

More juicy stuff for Microsoft conspiracy theorists. On Sunday, The New York Times reported that a high-ranking antitrust lawyer at the Justice Department has taken to defending Microsoft's stance in current legal wranglings, even recommending to various states attorneys'-general that they shouldn't take action on Google anti-trust claims against Microsoft. Oh yes, this attorney, Thomas O. Barnett, used to work for one of Microsoft's law firms.

Money snippet from The Times:

It's interesting to hear about this guy's past, especially since Microsoft apparently sicced the antitrust dogs on Google's planned Doubleclick buyout.

When it comes to antitrust actors, I guess it takes one to know one.
