Laser Phosphor Display
techweb
A display technology from Prysm Inc. (www.prysm.com) that uses lasers to excite red, green and blue phosphors. Used for large displays such as wall-sized advertisements on the sides of buildings, Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) is reminiscent of the CRT, but uses lasers instead of an electron gun to activate the phosphors. LPD uses less power than other display technologies.
