IBM's Own March Of The Penguins

Qualifying partners in the "Migrate To The Penguin" program can reap up to $20,000 for moving users. This is an expansion to IBM's existing Move2Lotus program. IBM says it will provide these partners with free education and certification.

Eligible partners can get up a rebate of $20 per seat for a maximum of 1,000 seats. The program is good for this year and is now active in the U.S. and Canada.

IBM and Microsoft regularly trade claims of market leadership in e-mail and both claim migrations from the other guy's camp.

Both companies have also sparked considerable confusion about their respective communications strategies, with IBM fielding overlapping Domino, Workplace and WebSphere offerings and Microsoft trying to clarify its <> communications platform which includes Exchange, Live Communications Server, SharePoint and other piece parts.
