It's Tech Built
TechBuilder.org addresses the growing system builder community among solution providers. It focuses exclusively on providing news and information for builders of white box solutions. Core to the site are its'recipes' -- step-by-step guides to building custom solutions -- and the Recipe Discussion forums where members can evaluate the recipes and weigh in with their own technology perspective. Over 1,100 people registered in the first week. Try it out.
TechBuilder.org's launch party was the Silicon Chef event at last week's Tech Innvoator XChange. CRN's own Jeff O'Heir hosted a contest where three teams competed to construct a multimedia PC from scratch under the watchful eyes of the XChange participants over the course of an hour.
Awards Given and Received
Also at XChange, VARBusiness handed out their TechInnovator Awards for 2003--honoring twenty-four of the most innovative technology products relased this year.
While XChange was underway in Arizona, I was in New York city, representing VARBusiness.com at the Eddie/Ozzie Awards, honoring the top magazines and web sites for their content and design. VARBusiness won a gold award for best computing magazine, a silver for best B2B web site, and a print design award. No slouches themselves, CRN picked up three design awards.
Missions Accomplished
Each of these itesm rates a column of its own, but over the last month or so VARBusiness, CRN and ChannelWeb have posted the: 2003 VARBusiness Annual Report Awards site, newscenters for PCExpo/TechXNY, OracleWorld, SunNetwork, Microsoft Momentum, and Tech Innovator XChange, and CRN's Top 50 Channel Chiefs and 25 Rising Stars special reports.
