Apple On Apple Violence To End

The hostilities between Apple Computer—oops make that Apple Inc.--and the Apple record company (Apple Corps Ltd.) are apparently over.

The early word is the Beatles' record label and Apple Inc. have a new deal, replacing one reached 16 year ago. Apple Inc will own the trademarks related to "Apple" and license some back to the record label. The trademark suit will be nixed but terms were not disclosed.

In a prepared statement Apple CEO Steve Jobs said:

Hopes were raised about a detente after last month's iPhone launch during which a Beatle's song was featured.
