Netgear ProSafe Smart Wireless Switch
Netgear is unveiling the ProSafe Smart Wireless Switch, its first foray into the WLAN controller market. The new switch includes eight powered Fast Ethernet ports and one Gigabit Ethernet port, and is targeted at SMBs deploying five or more access points. It also includes enterprise-class features such as centralized management, built-in RF planning tools and integrated location-based services that can enable customers to track users or RFID-tagged assets. New access points include the WGL 102 and dual-radio WAGL 102. Netgear’s existing stand-alone access points also can be upgraded to work with the controller.
