Citrix WANScaler Client
Typical WAN optimization solutions require two boxes, one at the data center and one at the branch office. That leaves users out in the cold when they go on the road. Not anymore, according to Citrix Systems, which is introducing new client-side software that provides speedy application performance to users when they are out of the office.
The WANScaler Client, available for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP systems, can improve application performance to remote users by eliminating the amount of data that has to pass between the device and the data center.
The software currently is compatible with Citrix’s own SSL VPN offering, and SSL VPNs from other vendors are also being tested. It also is compatible with IPSec VPNs from Cisco Systems.
