The custom PC channel is hurting, but Intel is trying to help system builders get back on track. At the recent Intel Solutions Summit 2013, the world's largest chip maker discussed how it hopes to keep custom PC makers healthy by infusing the channel with new chips and motherboards for touch-screen-capable all-in-on (AIO) desktops. Intel is also pushing partner training for Windows 8 systems with touch-screen support. But can Intel alone keep the system builder channel going?
