The daily app, Twenn

Sounding like it’s meant for a younger crowd, today’s Daily App, Twenn, is really geared toward people looking to use Twitter as a real-time source for news.

A free app for iOS from the marketing consultancy BlackWhiteSourcing, the Tweeted News Network does just what its abbreviation, Twenn, implies -- it gathers numerous news-based twitter posts from bloggers, news agencies, journalists, TV/radio stations, newspapers and magazines and displays them in the app.

Without having to create a Twitter account, the app instantly launches with "Breaking News," displaying news posts from a default list of popular sites that can be edited and customized. Once tapped, any hyperlink from the post will open the related article in a Web browser. Articles can easily be shared via email, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social networking sites, or it can be saved for later.

A Feeds icon allows selection of other news topics such as technology, business travel, banking and sports. These topics can then be starred and added to the Favorites tab, providing instant organized access. Tweets also can be organized by region, segmenting posts from Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and North America.
