If a consequence of being in business has been a lack of time for book reading, today's Daily App might be just the thing. Like Cliff Notes for the eyes and ears, Summary.com and its free companion app for iOS presents audio and video summaries of various business-related books that can be consumed online or directly on an iPad or iPhone.
The summaries are intended to provide a thorough and solid understanding of a desired book though author interviews, webinars and an executive synopsis of the book. Registration is free at Soundview website, after which most book summaries cost $8.50. After registering and logging in, the app syncs with your online library and provides instant access to all purchased items. Items also can be downloaded for offline use.
The Summary.com app provides a few free book summaries, text summaries that open in the iBook reader, and samples of audio, video and PDF files. A search feature can filter content by subject, competency and type. An automatic bookmark keeps your place and works with text, video and audio clips.
