The Daily App, YouMail

If you’re among those who rejoiced when visual voicemail came into action, then today’s Daily App is for you. YouMail for Android, BlackBerry and iOS is a free app from the same-name communications solutions developer that intercepts incoming calls of known callers and greets them by name, converts voicemail messages to text and sends an email or text message or posts to social networks.

YouMail’s interactive app stores voicemail messages on its unlimited cloud-based storage system, where voicemail messages can be accessed through the website and arranged and organized into folders. YouMail also can automatically send a call receipt via text or email to every caller, letting them know by default that their voicemail has been received.

The app compares caller ID information with contacts imported from the phone's address book, as well as sources such as Outlook, Facebook, Yahoo and .CSV files, popping up photo IDs, name, city and state, when available. A block feature prevents unwanted callers from leaving voicemail. YouMail also permits users to exchange voicemail messages without making a call and to speak directly with a walkie-talkie feature.
