The Daily App, TweetDeck

For organizations that use Twitter even a little, today's Daily App is worth a look. TweetDeck for Android and iOS is a free social media client that connects to Twitter, Facebook, Google Buzz and Foursquare accounts and allows users to manage, tweet and post from multiple accounts from a single window.

From developer TweetDeck, the clever app uses columns to sort and organize social media streams. Each column provides access to different features of each account and can be easily switched through by swiping left and right. Columns can be customized and include the Home column, which aggregates all the streams, the Me column, which gathers comments and responses, and the Direct column, where the direct responses to the specific account are shown. The customizable columns can show the combination of any number of different feeds from all services and all accounts.

All of Twitter and Facebook’s major features -- sending updates, retweeting, favorites, mentions, direct messages, searching, status updates, notifications, wall posts, likes and comments -- are supported, although it doesn’t have full features of Facebook such as accepting or requesting friends and uploading photos. The most recent update makes Tweets and Status Updates easier to read by providing the ability to adjust font size, and its light/dark button can be used to switch between the traditional black color scheme and the new white and teal color scheme. TweetDeck also is available for Mac OS X and Windows.
