The Daily App, iMOckups

It’s true what they say: You get what you pay for. And with today's Daily App, software developers will never wonder why they purchased an iPad thanks to this low-fidelity mockups app. iMockups for iPad, released by Canadian based-Endloop Systems, costs $6.99 and allows for the quick creation of professional-quality wireframes for Web projects and iOS apps.

Even though iMockups doesn't look like much from the start, once a blank project has been established, the possibilities are endless. The left side of the screen provides a slide-out drawer, which includes the ability to add, delete and duplicate pages. The opposite side of the screen has another slide-out drawer that provides pre-built website templates and iOS elements that can be dragged onto the page.

Customizing projects to exact specifications is simple. There are options to resize the canvas and incorporate multiple sketchbook pages and step-by-step instructions on how to incorporate different features. There are also a number of commands such as clone and copy that help increase productivity. Other features include iMockups ability to import images and remember object sizes, such as wireframe shapes, text fills and buttons.

Projects can be converted into .jpg, .pdf or .bmml formats, saved as an iMockups file or as a photo in the iPhoto library. iMockups also supports airplay for projecting the project onto a larger screen to show to co-workers or clients.
