The Daily App: Network Dashboard For Windows Phone 8, 7

The Daily App, NetworkDashboard

One of many Android implementations includes pulling down on the top of the screen to present controls for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other radios for easy toggling. Managing communications and battery life is possible on Windows Phone too, but its toggles are tragically buried deep in the settings menu. Solving that problem is Network Dashboard, a 99-cent app (with an unlimited trial period) by Purity Consulting.

Network Dashboard acts as a switchboard for most network radios, affording quick access to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the carrier-network radio, and it acts as a catch-all for Airplane Mode. Best of all, it allows creation of individual live tiles on the home screen for the various radios it covers for fine grain, easily accessible radio controls. However, while the app runs on Windows Phone 8, it has yet to be updated for WP8, and runs at a lower-resolution than that of the new crop of devices.

This useful app also has another glaring issue; it doesn't control the GPS or NFC radios. We've reached out to Purity Consulting to see if an update to WP8 is planned. If so, this app would rank among our first recommendations to Windows Phone owners and be well worth a buck.
