Dell Helps Beacon, N.Y. Raise Its Grades

In addition to increased test scores, the dropout rate has fallen from a high of 13 percent to below 2 percent, according to Vito DiCesare Jr., superintendent for the Beacon City School District.

The network uses Dell's standards-based servers, storage and wireless networking to give students access to the software applications, projects and information on the school district's network--whether they are at home, at school or wherever they can access the Internet. Teachers also use the new network to access grades, student assignments, attendance records and other administrative information.
