Ingram Micro Expands Broadband Solutions

Avnet Computer Marketing Earns Recertification
Avnet Computer Marketing, Tempe, Ariz., has been certified for the fifth consecutive year in IBM's Authorized Assembler Program. The certification allows Avnet Computer Marketing to provide customers of its two divisions,Avnet Hall-Mark, a value-added distributor, and Avnet Enterprise Solutions, an IT infrastructure provider,with custom assembly and configuration services. IBM supplies partially assembled servers and components to Avnet to configure, integrate, load software and test solutions before shipping to customers, which reduces order-cycle time and improves availability of

custom-configured products.

Brightpoint, Sony Ericsson Sign Agreement
Indianapolis-based Brightpoint, a distributor of mobile phones, has signed an agreement to distribute Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (SEMC) products in the United States. Brightpoint will provide distribution solutions for a variety of SEMC wireless telecommunications devices and related accessories to carriers, retailers, agents and VARs. The agreement allows VARs to offer customers a total mobile solution with mobile multimedia communications abilities and products from Sony Ericsson, and global wireless telecommunications support, channel management and outsourced services from Brightpoint.

ScanSource Recognized As a Hot-Growth Company
ScanSource, a North American distributor of specialty technology products based in Greenville, S.C., was named one of BusinessWeek's 100 hot-growth companies for the third year in a row. The distributor finished 21st, based on recent sales growth, earnings growth and return on capital. ScanSource provides both value-added distribution sales to technology resellers and Internet-based fulfillment to manufacturers and others in specialty technology markets.

Westcon Group To Distribute 3Com Products Across the Atlantic
Santa Clara, Calif.-based 3Com has appointed Tarrytown, N.Y.-based Westcon Group as an authorized pan-European distributor. Westcon, a global channel provider of networking and telecommunications technology products, will make 3Com solutions available to customers and partners immediately. The appointment coincides with Westcon's recent acquisition of Landis ICT, a pan-European technology distributor and a 3Com partner in Europe. Westcon will distribute 3Com's entire line of network-infrastructure products.

GE Access, a Boulder, Colo.-based distributor of computer products, solutions and services, is renewing its agreement with Infinity I/O, Half Moon Bay, Calif., which provides storage-networking education and certification solutions. Infinity I/O will continue to offer GE Access resellers and their customers Storage Industry Networking Associate vendor-neutral curriculum, training and certification through public and private courses. The courses, designed primarily for executive management and sales and marketing teams, look at SAN solutions and evaluate emerging technologies, as well as give storage professionals the ability to optimize the design, development and implementation of storage networks.
