Toshiba Answers the VoIP Call

As VoIP rapidly gains momentum across all segments of government, Toshiba is responding with its new IPT2010-SDC IP Desk Telephone, which has an analog central-office line interface for local dialing, including emergency calls. The new model also delivers the same functionality of Toshiba's digital telephones in an IP format, including 10 programmable feature buttons for customized use, a two-line-by-24-character LCD for Caller ID and feature prompting, full-duplex speakerphone and support for Power over Ethernet or local AC adapter. The IPT2010-SDC IP Desk Telephone is compatible with Toshiba's family of Strata CIX IP business-telephone systems and older Strata CTX systems that support IP interface units. Retail pricing for the IPT2010-SDC is estimated at $370, including warranty.

HP And Cingular Keeping the World Connected

For the many federal workers that travel worldwide, the HP Compaq nc6400 Notebook PC enables them to connect at broadband speeds to government networks, e-mail and the Internet. The laptop uses Cingular Wireless UMTS/HSDPA-based technology, a standard for the Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) that's available in 145 major metropolitan areas, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. Designed for easy upgrade to the Cingular Wireless 3G network with an HP Broadband Wireless Module, the notebook includes a tri-band UMTS modem that supports data rates of up to 3.6 Mbps.
