Seeking to expand its product line to storage, Symantec released late last year LiveState Recovery Desktop 3.0, a backup and recovery software system that takes snapshots of an operating system’s settings and configuration without disturbing user productivity. The product also allows for remote access and restore using embedded remote access technology.

The technology on which LiveState Recovery Desktop 3.0 is based was acquired by Symantec when it purchased PowerQuest Software in December 2003. LiveState Recovery Desktop 3.0 runs on either Windows XP- or Windows 2000-based systems.
