Security: Sales Down, But Category Remains Priority

Sales expectations declined sharply for all major security subcategories, including anti-spyware, firewalls, intrusion detection, VPNs and anti-virus.

Anti-virus products showed the highest level of sales expectations for the third quarter.

Despite these declines, solution providers still have higher sales expectations for security than for any other major product category. Only services-related categories have higher sales expectations, as the chart shows.

And security still holds three of the top 10 spots where solution providers have the highest sales expectations for the third quarter.
