Federal Security Spending To Climb
Federal IT spending on security is expected to grow 19 percent over the next five years, reaching $6.3 billion by 2011, according to Reston, Va.-based research firm Input. The drivers behind that growth? Recent security threats and efforts to comply with the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 by way of a secure set of standards for identification of federal employees and contractors. In addition, low scores from civil agencies on the Federal Computer Security Report could lead to increased spending on real-time network monitoring, and on inventory, configuration and identity management.
