State Education Grants Announced

All of the applicants for the grants submitted applications within 45 days of publication of the incentive awards announcement in the Federal Register and provided a description of planned innovative uses for the funds. The monies are available to states through June 30, 2005. The states and the amount of incentive funds for which each qualifies, in alphabetical order, are: Colorado ($1.14 million); Florida ($3 million); Illinois ($3 million); Kentucky ($2.07 million); Louisiana ($3 million); Maryland ($1.95 million); Montana ($750,000); North Dakota ($750,000); Nebraska ($750,000); Oklahoma ($1.38 million); South Carolina ($1.87 million); South Dakota ($750,000); Tennessee ($2.6 million); Texas ($3 million); Washington ($3 million); Wyoming ($750,000).
