File Transfer Protocol, or FTP, is still the most popular method of transferring Windows files from one system to another, and the new Ipswitch WS_FTP Professional 2007 offers faster file-transfer speeds while adding support for improved security. The software supports 256-bit encryption and OpenPGP, and it inspects files for integrity. It also offers folder synchronization, compression into the .ZIP format, scripting and e-mail notifications when files are transferred. It can be used to perform scheduled backups and supports SSL, SSH and HTTPS.
