Solution providers and vendors met up at this year's XChange Government Integrator '08 conference in Washington, D.C. this year to honor the companies that prove that they understand the IT requirements of the public sector.
ChannelWeb picked 15 common beliefs about Microsoft and gave channel partners the opportunity to explain why they're more fiction than fact.
The program, called Technology Provider, is a way for solution providers to access the latest information about Intel products. It is primarily focused on knowledge sharing in Europe. "This is a win-win type of program that works to make sure that we win together," said Mauritis Tichelman, director sales and distribution reseller channel operations, EMEA, Intel, at the launch last week. "It provides a unique source of advice and information that will help us to develop more productive, long term relationships."
The program's base is its Website. The site allows solution providers to get answers to questions quickly via chat, e-mail or a telephone hotline. It also serves as one-stop shop for sales and marketing tools, and it also offers online training programs and webinars that solution providers can access.
The site's content is coupled with market intelligence that includes the latest news and industry updates.
Tichelman explained that direct access to companies like Intel, who don't build computers or sell software, is part of a trend in the technology market to break down the barriers and create a knowledge sharing network. "We want to be close to people like you, we want to hear your concerns, your needs and your opinions," he said.
