And you thought the price of gasoline and your favorite stock were falling through thed basement?

The email inbox just trumpeted an interesting deal from TigerDirect: a 1 TB internal HDD for $99. The drive, Serial ATA, performs at 7200 RPM.

It seems like just yesterday that a terabyte of hard disk drive storage was going for $150. Wait, that really was yesterday.

The price of storage has been dropping significantly for two years, but crossing the Terabyte-for-under-a-hundred bucks mark is noteworthy - - if even on a retail level.

This pricing may not last, but given the wildly changing state of the economy, all bets might be off.
