Affinity Index: VARs Show Display Love For Dell
Opinions on the best displays and monitors and how best to move them through the SMB channel are as varied among solution providers as the brands they sell. But as new research by Everything Channel's Institute for Partner Education & Development (IPED) makes clear, a vendor's ability to achieve targets and the end customer brand preference are the most important factors solution providers considered when scoring the vendors they work with.
For IPED's new Channel Affinity Index study, solution providers were asked to weigh 15 factors, and how a vendor scored with regard to each of the 15 and how much weight was assigned determined that vendor's Channel Affinity score. The following slides illustrate some results of the Channel Affinity research in the SMB displays/monitors category, and reveal that while Sony remains tops in market share for the dollar value of VAR proposals written during the year and closed during the year, it's actually a former channel nemesis "- Dell -- that's taking the things VARs find most important about doing channel business with displays and monitors, and doing them right.
