Microsoft is continuing to move its HealthVault platform forward, launching an updated software developer kit, along with plans to provide more details at a conference in April. The new SDK includes, < a href="http://blogs.msdn.com/allandcp/about.aspx">according to a developer on the MSDN network:

* NET assemblies for interacting with the HealthVault platform * sample applications that you can run from your development machine * device simulators that can upload data to a HealthVault account * documentation including a CHM file and a Getting Started Guide * a few tools that will help you generate and install private certificates

Microsoft launched HealthVault earlier this year as an online health search site, record depository and general platform for health-related devices that connect to health providers over the web. The company has taken great pains to position the platform as a secure and confidential service.

The Redmond, Wash.-based software giant is also set to discuss HealthVault in more detail during its Health and Life Sciences Developer and Solutions Conference, April 22 through April 24 in Atlantic City, N.J.
