The distributors include Gates/Arrow, Consan, Support Net, SBM, Arrow Industrial Computer Products and Microtronica.
Each company will continue to focus on its respective customer segments, but they will combine assets and marketing teams, organized by major product segments, said Fran Scricco, Arrow president and chief operating officer.
"Our goal is to provide suppliers with a single point of contact to drive marketing and sales programs," said Scricco.
Mike Long, president of Gates/Arrow, has been named president of Arrow North American Computer Products. He will report to Larry Kem, chairman and chief executive.
Dave Casillo, Gates/Arrow vice president of marketing, has been named vice president of supplier services for the new group.
Also, Jan Salsgiver was named president of North American Components in charge of six customer-focused groups: Arrow Alliance, Arrow/Bell Components, Arrow Contract Manufacturing (CMS) Distribution Group, Arrow/Richey Electronics, Arrow Semiconductor and Arrow/Zeus Electronics.
"These moves are a natural evolution in our strategy. We started with our components business and have now set up a similar structure with our computer products groups," said Scricco.
